Why is it that some of the most simple things in our lives are so difficult?
We all know how straight forward a process is, but for some reason we never seem to be able to make it stick and become a habit.
Take for instance, focusing at work. We know that we should avoid checking e-mails, give something our full attention and get the work done. But for some reason we get distracted all too easily.
Or perhaps it’s getting into a fitness regime. Again, simple equation, put on the trainers and go for a run or walk. Nothing complex about that.
The trouble is, we often tell ourselves that we ‘should’ do this, or we ‘should’ do that in order to get the goal or outcome we want. But as Tony Robbins would say, we end up should-ing all over ourselves!
The secret to behavioural change is changing the ‘shoulds’ to ‘musts’. That’s where real change begins!
